  • Mr. Divine Mensah-Sakyi

Session One: WhatsApp Security and Digital Safety

The first session was facilitated by Mr. Apedo Gabriel Daitey, who made a presentation on WhatsApp hacking and digital security. He educated teachers on common methods used by hackers to compromise WhatsApp accounts and the dangers associated with unsecured digital platforms.

He encouraged all staff to protect their accounts by activating two-step verification, noting that:

“Once your WhatsApp account is secured with two-step verification, it becomes extremely difficult for hackers to take control of it.”

He stressed that digital safety is crucial, especially when teachers use online platforms to interact with students.

Session Two: Online Teaching and Learning

The second session was facilitated by Mr. Divine Mensah-Sakyi, who focused on online teaching and digital classroom management. He emphasized that online teaching is now a permanent feature of education, stating that:

“Online teaching has come to stay, and as teachers, we must continuously equip ourselves to meet the demands of modern education.”

He highlighted the importance of creating WhatsApp class communities to enhance communication and support learning outside the classroom.

Mr. Mensah-Sakyi also took participants through a practical session on Google Classroom, demonstrating how to create classes, add students, upload teaching materials, and assign work. He further demonstrated how to link Google Classroom to Google Meet to facilitate live online lessons, explaining that:

“Google Classroom and Google Meet work best when they are properly linked to support effective online interaction with students.”
