Welcome Home, Akro Community! Kicking Off the 2026 Academic Year with Purpose

The festive season has come and gone. The Christmas rice has been eaten, the New Year resolutions have been made, and the quiet atmosphere that settled over our campus in Odumase-Krobo during the break has finally lifted.

Today, the campus of Akro Senior High Technical School (ASHTS) comes alive again. The dormitories are buzzing, friends are reconnecting, and the familiar sight of our blue and white uniforms is filling the assembly grounds.

On behalf of the Headmaster, the teaching staff, and the entire administration, we want to extend a resounding “Welcome Back” to every single student. To our returning students, we missed your energy. To our fresh Form One students joining the “Akro family,” welcome to the beginning of a journey that will shape your future.

As the Ghana Education Service (GES) rings the bell for the start of the January 2026 academic calendar, it signals more than just a return to classrooms and workshops. It signals a fresh start and a new opportunity to excel.

Shifting Gears: From Celebration to Concentration

We hope you all had a restful and joyous break with your families. But now that you have stepped back through the school gates, the switch must flip immediately. The holiday mode is over; serious academic and technical work begins now.

At Akro Sec Tech, we don’t just pass through school; we allow the school to pass through us. We pride ourselves on discipline, hard work, and practical skills. This 2026 academic year requires your full commitment from Day One.

A Blueprint for Success in 2026

Whether you are in the General Arts class, sweating it out in the Auto Mechanics workshop, balancing equations in the Science lab, or designing in the Visual Arts studio, the principles of success remain the same.

Here is our advice to ensure this academic year is your best yet:

1. Hit the Ground Running Do not wait until mid-term to open your books. The syllabus is vast, and time waits for no student. Start reviewing your notes today. Pay attention in the very first class. The foundation you lay in these first few weeks will determine your grades at the end of the semester.

2. Discipline is Non-Negotiable Akro is known for discipline. This means respecting school rules, being punctual for assembly and classes, and respecting your teachers and seniors. A disciplined environment is the only environment where true learning can thrive.

3. Utilize the Facilities You are in a Technical School—one of the best in the Eastern Region. Make use of the workshops. Don’t just look at the tools; master them. Use the library. Ask your teachers questions. The resources are here for you.

4. Eyes on the Prize (Especially Form 3s) To our final-year students, 2026 is THE year. The WASSCE is closer than you think. Every moment you waste now is a mark lost later. Focus, form study groups, and prioritize your future over temporary distractions.

Let’s Make Kroboland Proud

We are excited to see what you will achieve this year. The teachers are prepared to guide you, but the ultimate effort must come from you.

Let us make this 2026 academic year one of focus, determination, and outstanding results.

Welcome back to Akro. Let’s get to work!
